Thousands spent their Easter bank holiday at the Battersea Park fun fair. This dodgems ride was one of many attractions that also included a water chute, a tree walk and the Big Dipper rollercoaster. The fair opened as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951. It closed in the early 1970s following a fatal accident on the Big Dipper.
