An edited version of the authors newspaper Gardening Notes, a chronicle of what was happening in her Central Otago garden, season by season. It is full of insight, advice and charm and there is also a chapter on Paeonies, her favourite flower. From 1956 until her death in 1992, Glad McArthur wrote a weekly column for the Central Otago News. Gardeners in the region would not plant their peas until she said it was the right time.
