The paint is laid on thickly with a knife, ridges of violet, magenta and electric blue building the feathered face, while a shock of white crest stands up wildly from the crown. Its beak is the boldest note of all, split between hot pink and cobalt, catching the light along every raised edge. Behind the bird the background blazes
