It is set over the suede above it so that it creates a little visual ruffle around its top and then it is gathered all the way around in soft folds to create that ruffle feel

Unlined and slips on to wear with one strap closing with hook and eye and on one side with more hook & eye

The top of the bodice is curved and it crosses over itself at the front

The colours pop off the black beautifully and the fact that this was all done by hand is just amazing

Alber was at Laroche from 1996 to 1998. The final collection that he designed was the Spring 1999 show and then he moved to YSL Rive Gauche directly after. This dress is an obvious take reissue on the famous 1972 Laroche designed by Guy and worn by Mireille Darc in the film 'The Tall Blond Man With One Black Shoe'.
